‘Pastor Chris’ is one of Africa’s most influential pastors, but he’s been pushing conspiracy theories to his followers.
The BBC has reviewed dozens of his sermons from 2023 and 2024 and found he has been spreading anti-vaccine messages and specifically targeting the new malaria vaccine as it is being distributed in African countries.
According to the World Health Organization, 95% of malaria deaths occurred on the continent in 2022 - with children under five accounting for around 80% of those deaths.
