A TAP (Test Access Point) is a passive device that generates an identical duplicate of network traffic. The copy is automatically forwarded to such monitoring tools as analyzers, security systems, or performance trackers. The device being used is passive and so it does not create delay, interference as well as it does not risk of downtime.
