#paulmccartney wrote a heartwarming Instagram message praising #beyonce’s cover of the song “Black Bird” by #thebeatles. The song was written by McCartney as an homage to the Little Rock Nine, a group of Black students who were integral to the fight to desegregate public schools in the United States. The song also includes vocals from four Black female country artists #tanneradell, #tierakennedy, #reynaroberts, and #brittneyspencer.

When Bobbi Gibb was told women weren't capable of running a marathon, she decided she was going to run the 1966 Boston Marathon anyway.

For all the changes that occurred during the 1960s, it was still a time of rigid attitudes towards women.
